Surat : Rs 24 crore black money

           SURAT: The income-tax department on Saturday recovered unaccounted income to the tune of Rs 24 crore from two real estate developers — one is the son of an MLA from the city.

Official sources said the I-T sleuths from range-9 carried out survey operations at the commercial and residential projects of these real estate groups at Varachha, Katargam, Sarthana and Parvat Patiya on Friday.

The department officials seized documents and other evidence regarding black money transactions in the purchase of land. The MLA's son declared Rs 13 crore worth of unaccounted income, while the real estate developer in Parvat Patiya area declared income of Rs 11 crore.

In the last one week, the I-T department has recovered over Rs 35 crore worth of unaccounted income from real estate developers and textile traders in the city.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject:- Rates of Dearness Allowance applicable w.e.f. 1.7.2014 to employees of Central Government and Central Autonomous Bodies continuing to draw their pay in the pre-revised scale as per 5th Central Pay Commission.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s Office Memorandum of even No. dated 22 April. 2014 revising the rates of Dearness Allowance in respect of employees of Central Government and Central Autonomous Bodies who continue to draw their pay and allowances in the pre-revised scales of pay as per 5th Central Pay Commission.
2. The rates of Dearness Allowance admissible to the above categories of employees of Central Government and Central Autonomous Bodies shall be enhanced from the existing rate of 200% to 212% w.e.f. 1.7.2014. All other conditions as laid down in the O.M. of even number dated 3 October, 2008 will continue to apply.
3. The contents of this Office Memorandum may also be brought to the notice of the organizations tinder the administrative control of the Ministries/Departments which have adopted the Central Government scales of pay.

After the approval of the competent authority, the order specifying the staff allocation for the new formations has been issued yesterday. This is the first step for the implementation of the cadre restructuring in CBEC. Chairperson, CBEC herself stated in her message that the benefits of the restructuring will depend on its speedy implementation. Also a letter regarding cadre restructuring and reorganization of field formation has been issued yesterday.

DPC for ITO to ACIT for the RY '14-'15 within year end : Chairman

While addressing a meeting organized by ITGOA Delhi Unit, the Chairman CBDT announced that the process for holding DPC for RY 2014-15 has been initiated and assured that DPC should convene within this calendar year itself.
It may be mentioned that Chairman, CBDT is due to retire on October 2014.
