Recently DTRTI, Chandigarh issued a letter declaring that the examination of the ITOs ending the orientation training course will
be conducted in the month of February, 2017.
This caused serious resentment among the newly promoted officers as in this matter, CBDT is yet to take any formal decision.
Accordingly JCA informed the Chairman and urged to withdraw the said instruction immediately.

Stupid rules. When exams are clears long back y write again?! Just a ploy to stifle promotees. JCA shd take this matter seriously and force board to withdraw this rule immediately .

Yes, there must be... But this should not be an excuse for not applying on the non IRSs
Dear Comrades, result of ITO exam is found very pathetic. Only 13% has passed. Maximum officials have failed in the margin. Kindly look into the matter and raise hands at least to revert the pass mark or eradicate the minus mark system. The question papers have been tightened deliberately. This will definitely hurt us. Please wake up and raise voice on this.

Very good initiative by the RTI.It must be for all post in CBDT to avail even annual increment including IRS....we all should support it...
The ito exam should altogether b done away with. My experience of 20 years in this dept shows that many an ito who had got high marks in the exam are horrendous AO's but some who got average grades have turned out to b brilliant AO's. Rather than one time exam it should b periodic assessment based on cit review of orders, treatment in appeal,audit etc n only those who have sound knowledge of legal provisions should remain in assessment rests can b assigned non IT positions. I know many will disagree but tat is the only path to get quality.this 2 years IT posting 2 years non IT thing is making the whole assessment process a big joke.
In many scrutiny cases CAs drafts assessment orders.

In most of the CIT(A) cases, only CAs and advocates drafting the appeal orders.
Any effort for ACIT
ITO Exam should be done and refreshed at the interval of each 5 years. The matter of knowledge and quality of assessment should not be judged on the basis of appeal orders etc. Otherwise there would start an another lobbying of sycophancy etc . The knowledge of law and allied law should be given weight age in examination whenever it held in original or in refresher course etc

How do u know that RR will be notified in 15days. Is it true?
Once an official passed the exam conducted by dept.dept has no right to take exam after training(ito).if they do so what is the meaning of passing dept exam.
RR for EA are most difficult RR in history and feel lucky if notified in next 5 years
