All the information, instructions,circulars etc. are being communicated by departmental portal http://www.irsofficersonline.gov.in/. It is most unfortunate that only the IRS officers are authorized to view it's content with user id and password.
CBDT regularly issues circular and instructions for the assessing officers (most of them are ITOs) and expects compliance. Leave alone Group C workforce, even the assessing officers are not authorized to use the portal. Needless to mention that no classified or secret document is published in this portal which may need restricted usage.
This is sheer derogatory to each and every non IRS employees in the department. JCA did not take the matter seriously ever. Despite writing a few routine letters to CBDT, they did not really take up the issue.
Therefore, we on behalf of each and every non IRS employee of the Income Tax Department demand immediate access to www.irsofficersonline.gov.in.

We should immediately demand for change of name of this website. Why not name ressembling with I. T. Deparment. This is departmental website and should not be allowed to use as if sole property of IRS officers. Should we expect stern action in this respect from toothless lions of ITGOA and JCA?
All other officers & official are allowed to access the site with their employee ID. If they do not wants give the access rights, one one particular module may be created for the Sr. Level officers for any restricted correspondence.

It is universal TRUTH that in the universe only TWO things are possible. If there is positive there will be negative, similarly upward - downward, Good - Bad, Right - left and so on. With the positive view, every official should allow to access, so that 5% of the officials will make good use of website. Kindly look into the matter.
< yes its really a huge problem. Because except secret letter every circulars and notification published by cbdt must be in reach of each and every employee of Income Tax Department. Aslo it is unnatural that when these letter circulated in hard copy to AOs then why not they able to access these>

If the website www.irsofficersonline.gov.in ,is meant for only IRS Cadre Officers, why the official circulars, memoranda and other technical matters are being uploaded. Lack of transparency view only it was happened. Please think over the issue, what is the loss incurred by the IRS Officers if the view allowed to Non_IRS work force. IT Department is being run by the all categories of employees for its wellness, collection of taxes, tax payer services. Should not be think only one category being carried out by the entire credit to the Department. Pl,think in broadway as all of you are well educated, proved intelligents. Sharing of information is not a crime that too with regard to correspondence with CBDT. It is nothing but public information.

ITEF has got website, ITGOA too has one . These are maintained out of contribution from its members. The rule makers who are supposed to be an example to others should follow their subordinates route . If they don't want to spend for its maintenance and wants to maintain as in its present form then each employee has right to demand for viewing its contents.
Every employee of IT department should be allowed access to this site. Otherwise the CBDT should open another site for the benefit of all its employees and post the circulars and instruction in that site. It looks very funny that today the Board has uploaded the deficiency list of APARS of ITo in IRS Officersonline, to which the ITO has no access. What a pity
